Cal. 32 WCF. S# 61504. Mfg 1896. It is fitted with a 20" round bbl with iron block riser with pinned blade front sight & Marbles elevation adj sporting rear sight. It is marked with the side facing late bbl address "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED OCTOBER 14, 1884." & "32 WCF" cal marking. Full magazine. The carbine forearm is held in place with a single bbl band. The upper tang of the straight grip frame is marked with the earliest variation of tang markings "MODEL 1892 / -WINCHESTER- / PAT. OCT. 14. 1884.". The carbine stock set is fit with a smooth steel carbine buttplate. CONDITION: overall poor. The metal finish has mostly faded to a cleaned mottled brown patina with touch up blue and many scattered handling marks. This rifle was rebarreled. The frame has extra holes for a mount that have been filled with a permanent plug. Sanded and refinished stock set with added varnish, a few edge chips, a crack at the butt, and heavy handling marks.
