Cal. 7.62x39. S# 11345574. Bbl. 20 1/2". Standard SKS sights. Visible parts have matching numbers. Triangle 26 Chinese SKS with 1969 dated plaque on left side of butt stating this carbine was captured in Quang Nam Province. The Quang Nam province saw heavy fighting between the USMC & Communist forces that year Unfortunately no bringback papers present. No visible import markings. Blued finish. Asian hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels & vacant area on right side of butt where another plaque appears to have been. Cleaning rod & folding spike bayonet both present. CONDITION: stock shows a long crack extending behind action into left of wrist that appears stable, a couple notable chips, scattered dings, scratches & handling marks. Gas tube has a silvery-gray oxidized appearance. Balance of metal shows overall oxidation & fading consistent with jungle usage, some notable dings on bbl. likely from combat, some pitting more heavy on bayonet, edge wear, staining & handling marks. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows a couple oxidation patches but has strong rifling. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. (26-2325/MJC).
