^Lot 2430 EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE & WELL EXECUTED BRONZE BUST OF

ADOLF HITLER LIBERATED FROM SALZBURG. This monumental bust of Adolf Hitler is larger than life size measuring approx. 13 1/2" in height with no base. The approx. width is nearly 9 1/2". The bust is artistically rendered and has an imposing presence. The most fascinating detail of this bust is the fact that under the left ear the American soldier that liberated it from Salzburg, Austria carefully hand engraved the following "SALZBURG 12-MAY-1945 LIBERATED by S/Sgt Silvio L Merola". We were unable to find information on Staff Sergeant Merola, but this would be worth further investigation by the purchaser. CONDITION: the bust shows a beautiful aged patina with no notable damage.
