^Lot 2220 7 FOREIGN ORDERS AND MEDALS.

1) The Dutch Order of Orange-Nassau was instituted in 1892 by the Queen Regent Emma. It was an order of chivalry and awarded to anyone who performed acts of special merit for society. CONDITION: light wear. 2) The Swedish Royal Order of the Sword was instituted in 1748 by King Fredrik I and was awarded to military officers for long and faithful service. CONDITION: light wear with tarnish and a soiled/worn ribbon. 3) The Belgian Order of Leopold with Swords was instituted in 1831 by the Belgian Parliament to honor King Leopold I. The order is Belgium's highest award for brave and meritorious service my military or civilians. CONDITION: light wear overall. 4) The Belgian Royal Order of the Lion was institute in 1891 by King Leopold II in his capacity of ruler of the Congo Free State. It was awarded for services to the Congo and the ruler. CONDITION: light wear overall and the ribbon is a touch faded. 5) The Breast Star of the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was instituted in 1961 on the 65th birthday of Grand Duchess Charlotte and was awarded to citizens and foreigners who made significant contribution to the reconstruction of the country after WWII. CONDITION: light wear with tarnish. 6) The Belgian Civic Decoration Cross was instituted in 1867 and was given for exceptional acts of bravery, devotion or humanity. CONDITION: very light wear overall. 7) The Belgian Croix de guerre was instituted by royal decree in 1915 an awarded for bravery of other military virtue on the battlefield.
