^Lot 2185 RARE OSS COMMANDO KNIFE WITH "PANCAKE FLIPPER"

SCABBARD THAT BELONGED TO GENERAL WILTON PERSONS. This fine commando knife was issued from 1942 to 1943 and measures 12 3/8" overall with a 11 1/2" stiletto that has a 6 11/16" darkened blade featuring a raised medial ridge. Darkened iron crossguard with a darkened crosshatched brass/bronze grip. "Pancake flipper" scabbard in dark green paint and brown leather body. No O ring. This stiletto was the personal property of Major General Wilton Burton "Jerry" Persons who served in WWI and WWII. He was also on President Eisenhower's staff rising to Chief of Staff in 1958. CONDITION: very light wear to the stiletto with very minor paint loss to the scabbard. (02-26200/BF). NON-GUN. $2,000-3,000.
