Harrington & Richardson Model 1873 Officer's Rifle, #3147, .45-70 cal., 26" heavy round barrel, blue and color case hardened finish. Checkered walnut one-piece straight grip stock with metal tipped hardwood ramrod, pewter forend tip, barrel band, and color case hardened steel buttplate; providing a 13" LOP. Dovetailed blade front and folding aperture sight at the tang. Receiver and trigger guard are machine engraved. Mfg'd circa 1975-1981. Rifle is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 97% factory finish, with scattered light marks along the barrel, and some light rust on the trigger guard and buttplate. Receiver displays vivid color case hardened finish with attractive machine engraving. Stock displays signs of use and poor storage, with scattered moderate indentations, scratches, and considerable flaking finish. Action functions well. Bore is near excellent and primarily bright with well-defined rifling. Est.: $500-$750. (Modern)
