Battle of Stones River (Dec 1862–Jan 1863): Parsons' Battery was heavily engaged, often firing at close range to halt Confederate advances on the Nashville Pike.
Performance: The battery was noted for being "most powerful" on the field, firing roughly 10% of all Union ordnance used in the battle with high accuracy.
Leadership: Lt. Charles C. Parsons, a West Point graduate, was promoted to captain for his actions.
