Item/Description: Antique Chinese Famille Rose porcelain vase of baluster form with a widely flared, trumpet neck. Republic Period, early 20th century. Hand-painted in polychrome Famille Rose enamels, featuring a vibrant bird and flower decorative program. The central motif depicts a large. blossoming pink peony, a symbol of prosperity and honor, complemented by a pair of perching birds amongst floral branches. The neck is accented with literati-style calligraphy and a red seal, a hallmark of the Qianjiang style favored during this period.

Condition: Signs of age, use, and wear include surface wear to the enamels and calligraphy, surface markings and oxidation to base, and a small chip on the upper flared rim.
