Item/Description: Original Oceanian artwork titled "Morning Star" from the Melville Island region: a tropical island in Australia known for Indigenous culture and fishing. Natural earth pigments on flattened eucalyptus bark, attached to weave wrapped wood board. Mexico City art gallery label adhered to back reads in part: Aborigen - Arte Oceania (Aboriginal Oceanian Art). Tinia / Corteza (Bark painting).
